We advocate for access to justice to those unfairly incarcerated in USA immigration detention centers with the aim of improving their wellbeing.
ELOI works with partners whose purpose is to strengthen the quality of interventions, inclusiveness in program monitoring, policymaking, and strategy development plans through sustainable access to justice to those who have been unfairly incarcerated in immigration detention centers in the USA without access to affordable justice for several months and/or years. The worst punishment you can subject to any human being running and seeking safety from their country is to incarcerate them, under cruel conditions, upon arrival. Prolonged detention must stop as it is a clear violation of human rights.
ELOI works closely together with other partners whose sole purpose/aim is to strengthen the quality of interventions, inclusiveness in program monitoring, policymaking, and strategy development plans that target and are relevant to men and women who have been unfairly incarcerated in immigration detention centers in the USA without access to free and affordable justice for several months or even years.
We advocate for Sustainable Access to Justice for the unfairly incarcerated persons in USA immigration Detention centers. Our primary objective is to access justice for the Minors, men and women suffering in the immigration Detentions with the aim of improving their wellbeing. The worst punishment you can subject to any human being running and seeking safety from their country is to indefinitely incarcerate them in immigration detention centers some of which are under poor conditions. This causes more damage in the lives of these individuals in form of psychological, physical and creates an inferiority complex which affects and reduces productivity of such individuals even if they are released and given chance to live and work in USA. Prolonged detention Must stop as it’s a clear violation of Human rights.
We are encouraged by the willingness of other human rights advocates and agencies that support national human rights efforts. Through this program, Access to Justice, ELOI’s interests are based in improving the quality of access to justice for our target groups. Strategies employed under this program are aimed at contributing to improving the quality of our services.
The success of our fundraising campaigns will support community consultation, policy advocacy, communication, and outreach training for underserved members of our community.
ELOI also supplements its efforts by encouraging capacity building of students through the Human Rights Club activity. Youth that participate in this activity, a branch of our Access to Justice Program will participate in research on policy regarding human rights, are encouraged to create publications on researched subjects, and help advocate for those in need by organizing local advocacy events.
ELOI also partners with mainstream human rights organizations and legal aid service providers to expand provisions for those in need. We work with informal justice systems, other human rights organizations, and traditional cultural structures to address injustices through mediation. A diverse set of skills, experience, and knowledge can be cultivated through work with ELOI to encourage more prospective and current social workers dedicated to policy, legal work, and advocacy to volunteer with us.
We are inspired by the role of Angry Tias and Abuelas, Haitian Bridge, Amnesty International, The JFK Foundation and all civil society organizations fighting injustice in the USA. The achievements and victories in the fight for human rights and equality achieved by other programs are a common goal we aspire to achieve at ELOI.
Join a community of compassionate individuals who are dedicated to serving those in need and creating positive change. Your time and efforts will leave a lasting impact and create memories that will warm your heart forever.
