From entry to integration, ELOI supports asylum seekers as they find a new place to call home.
At ELOI, we believe in providing compassionate support to individuals and families seeking asylum. Our dedicated team works to ensure asylum seekers receive the assistance they need while navigating their new circumstances.
Our comprehensive approach focuses on immediate needs and long-term stability. We help connect asylum seekers with legal professionals, provide access to essential resources, and offer assistance that helps build independence and community connections.
When asylum seekers first arrive, they often face urgent challenges. Our emergency response team provides immediate assistance with temporary housing, food security, and essential supplies. We understand the trauma and uncertainty many face upon arrival, so we also offer crisis counseling and emergency medical referrals. Our 24-hour helpline ensures that help is always available when needed most.

Navigating the asylum process can be overwhelming. We partner with experienced immigration attorneys who provide pro bono consultations and legal representation. Our case managers help with paperwork, documentation, and understanding legal rights. We assist in attempting to obtain necessary identification documents, work permits, and accessing public services. Our team also provides translation services for legal appointments and official proceedings.
Long-term stability is crucial for successful integration. Through our skills development program, we offer English language classes, computer literacy training, and job readiness workshops. We connect asylum seekers with vocational training opportunities and potential employers through our network of community partners. Our financial literacy program helps individuals understand banking, budgeting, and building credit in their new country.
We believe that connection is essential for healing and growth. Our community integration program pairs asylum seekers with local mentors who provide friendship and cultural orientation. We organize social events, cultural exchanges, and support groups where individuals can build relationships and share experiences. Our mental health professionals provide ongoing counseling and trauma-informed care to support emotional well-being throughout the transition process.
It is very important to have legal advice and representation while in the process of seeking asylum as any minor mistake can be a basis of denial of your claim. We work with different partners to provide the legal assistance required and necessary for the process.

While in detention centers, an individual needs support to be able to communicate with either a family member or an attorney. Communication systems are not free in these facilities even though most detainees do not work and hardly have any money to facilitate this much needed communication for both legal and psycho-social support.
Detainees need support through small sums of money to be used for communication and can use this money to buy supplementary food.
Donate today! Your contributions will help make this possible.
You may host an immigrant who has been released from detention or whose time of living at the immigrant shelter has expired. This involves helping feed them, and sharing or giving them shelter among other contributions.
Being new members of our community, these New Americans need to be treated with dignity and kindness to enable them to heal from the detention, trauma, and adjustment to a new life, thus we humbly appeal for support to make this a reality.
