At ELOI , our mission is driven by the tireless dedication of our leadership and the unwavering support of our community. This week, we had the immense pleasure of witnessing our founder, Pastor Steven, advance our cause on two distinct yet equally vital fronts: high-level advocacy and community building.

From the halls of government to the sanctuary of interfaith gathering, Steven continues to embody the spirit of service that defines our organization. We are proud to share a recap of these inspiring recent events.

Advancing the Dialogue on Immigration with Senator Welch

Change often begins with conversation. Recently, Steven, accompanied by their legal counsel, held a productive and encouraging meeting with United States Senator Peter Welch and his dedicated staff.

The discussion focused heavily on critical issues surrounding current immigration policies and the vital community work that LOI spearheads daily. It was an opportunity to bring the voices of those we serve directly to key policymakers.

Regarding the meeting, Steven shared:

“I recently had a wonderful meeting with Senator Welch, my attorneys, and his staff. We discussed a lot about immigration and my community work and I was humbled by the warm welcome and great conversation. Thank you so much, Senator, for your support and encouragement.”

We are incredibly grateful to Senator Welch for his willingness to listen, his support of our mission, and his encouragement to keep moving forward in our fight for fair and compassionate immigration systems.

A Standing Ovation for Unity: The Sinai Temple Interfaith Service

Following the strategic meetings in Washington, Steven returned to the heart of the community to speak at a powerful interfaith service hosted by Sinai Temple.

The event was a beautiful testament to unity, bringing together over 300 community members and a diverse array of religious leaders, including the Catholic Bishop. In times that can often feel divided, this gathering was a shining example of shared humanity and collective hope.

Steven delivered a moving address that resonated deeply with everyone present, resulting in a heartfelt standing ovation.

Reflecting on the emotional experience, Steven noted:

“Last Sunday, I had the honor to give a speech at the Sinai Temple where over 300 people had gathered in an interfaith service. In attendance was the Catholic Bishop and so many interfaith religious leaders. I was moved and humbled by the standing ovation after my speech! Thank you, Rabbi David, for the invitation and for organizing such a powerful event.”

Moving Forward Together

Whether advocating for policy change with senators or inspiring hundreds in a house of worship, Steven remains committed to the core values of ELOIM.

We celebrate these moments not just to honor our founder, but to highlight the progress we are making together. Every meeting, every speech, and every handshake brings us one step closer to a more just and welcoming society for all.

Thank you to Senator Welch, Rabbi David, and our incredible community for your continued support.
